Terms and conditions

Clause 17 has been updated to allow 35 days for cheques to be posted out to winners. This allows 30 days for winners to click on the link in their winning email and 5 days for the cheque to be processed.

  • This promotion is open to residents of the United Kingdom, and the Republic of Ireland, excluding employees of the Promoter, their families, agencies, or anyone professionally connected with the promotion.
  • Entrants must be 16 years old or over. Proof of age may be required.
  • This promotion is available on promotional cans of SureMen anti-perspirant deodorants. Promotional cans will be available in major supermarkets, subject to availability.
  • To take part in the promotion, log onto www.suremen.co.uk and enter the unique 8 digit promotional code printed on the reverse of the promotional sticker. After you enter your code you will need to register your personal contact details. You will then be told the team assigned to your code and be entered into the SureMen Last 8 sweepstake.
  • Each person may submit a maximum of 10 entries.
  • All codes are assigned to a team at the start of the promotion so by entering your code you will reveal the team which has already been assigned to that code.
  • There will be millions of promotional packs available, each will have a unique code. Teams will be attributed to codes in the following percentages:
    Spain, Brazil, England, Argentina, Italy, France, Germany and Holland: 1% of codes each.
    Portugal: 1.66% of codes.
    Ivory Coast: 2.5% of codes.
    Paraguay, Chille and Mexico: 2.66% of codes each.
    Serbia and the USA: 3.33% of codes each.
    Ghana, Denmark, Uruguay, South Africa, and Cameroon: 4% of codes each.
    Nigeria, Greece, Australia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Japan, Slovakia, South Korea, Honduras, Algeria, New Zealand: 4.430533% of codes each.
    North Korea: 4.4308% of codes.
  • No Purchase Necessary route only available in Northern Ireland. If you do not wish to purchase, write to us with your name, email address, date of birth, telephone number, county, and postcode on a plain piece of paper to 'Sure men Last 8 sweepstake', PO Box 7557, Derby, DE1 0NP. Entries must be received by the closing date. You will be sent a code to the email address you provide for you to enter online on the day your entry is received. No bulk or third party entries. Only one entry per stamped envelope will be accepted.
  • Responsibility is not accepted for entries lost, damaged or delayed in the post or as a result of any network, computer hardware or software failure of any kind. Proof of posting or sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
  • Promotion closes at midnight (GMT) on 11.09.2010.
  • The prizes: Depending on how far your team progresses in the football in South Africa this summer you will get a cash prize. If your team wins the tournament you will get £/€50. If your team gets to the final (but doesn't win) you will get £/€25. If your team gets to the semi-final you will get £/€15 and if it gets to the quarter-final you will get £/€5.
  • Prizes are based on the final position in the tournament and are not cumulative. For the avoidance of doubt, if your country goes out at the Quarter final stage you will receive £/€5. If your country goes out in the Semi finals you will get £/€15. If your country loses in the final you will get £/€25. If your country wins the final you will get £/€50.
  • The Promoter's decisions regarding all promotional matters will be final. No correspondence will be entered into.
  • UK winners will receive prizes in pounds sterling and ROI winners receive prizes in euro.
  • All registered entrants will be emailed within 72 hours of their team getting knocked out of the competition or winning the final to let them know if they have won, and if so, how much they have won.
  • Participants who enter after the tournament has finished will be notified by email if they have won within 72 hours of entry.
  • Winners must claim their prize within 30 days of notification by clicking on the link in the winners email that will be sent to them and supplying their postal mailing address to Unilever through the competition website. If any prize is unclaimed after this time, it will lapse and the Promoter reserves the right to retain the prize. Cheques will be sent out by post within 35 days of the Winners claiming their prizes. When registering to take part in the promotion, please submit your details correctly as your registered name will appear on your cheque if you win. The decision of the Promoter is final. No correspondence will be entered into.

  • No entries from agents, third parties, organised groups or entries automatically generated by computer will be accepted. Incomplete or illegible entries or those not in accordance with the entry instructions will be disqualified.
  • Only valid unique 'Sure men' Last 8 sweepstake promotional codes will be accepted. Each code can only be entered once.
  • All codes are subject to verification. Manufacturers references or printing errors do not constitute codes.

  • Entrants should retain promotional stickers as proof of purchase.
  • Winners may be required to participate in publicity arising from this promotion.
  • A list of winners will be made available on request to those enclosing a stamped self-addressed envelope to 'Sure men' Last 8 sweepstake, PO Box 10220, Sutton Coldfield, B76 1ZH within 3 months of the closing date of the promotion.
  • The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss, damage or consequential damage of any nature in contract, tort (including negligence) caused by acceptance of the terms and conditions or in connection with the promotion (to the extent permissible by law).
  • By entering the promotion, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the promotion terms and conditions and consent to the transfer of their personal data to the Data Controller, for the purposes of the administration of this promotion, and any other purposes to which the entrant has consented. All entry instructions form part of the terms and conditions.
  • The Promoter reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify and withhold the prize(s) of any individual found to be tampering with the code redemption process or the operation of the Promotion or website, or to be acting in any manner deemed by the Promoter to be in violation of the terms and conditions.
  • The Promoter reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any point during the Promotion if circumstances outside our control make this unavoidable. Any amendments will be explained at the top of these terms and conditions.
  • In the event that any provision of these terms and conditions is held to be unlawful, invalid, void or otherwise unenforceable, it shall be severed from the remaining provisions of these terms and conditions which shall continue in full force and effect.
  • In the Republic of Ireland the Promotion is operated by Unilever under a lottery licence issued to The Jack and Jill Foundation, Charity Number CHY12405 by the Naas District Court.
  • As concerns UK residents, these terms and conditions and any issues or disputes which may arise out of or in connection with these terms and conditions (whether such disputes or issues are contractual or non-contractual in nature, such as claims in tort, for breach of statute or regulation or otherwise) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law. The entrants and the Promoter hereby irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts to settle any such dispute or issues. As concerns ROI residents, these terms and conditions shall be governed by the law of Ireland and the Irish courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
